Mr. Schachler is Chair of the Board of the Canadian Steel Producers’ Association and on the board of directors of the American Iron and Steel Institute. He is Co-Chair of the Board of the Canadian Steel Trade and Employment Congress (CSTEC). Mr. Schachler is a member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, the Ontario Manufacturing Council, and participates in various community initiatives.
Scott Maki - Vice President - Finance, began his career in the Taxation Department at Algoma in 1989 and transferred to Dofasco Hamilton in 1990. Since then, Scott has held various senior financial positions in Taxation, Treasury, Investor Relations, Strategic Development, and Financial Reporting. He was Director, Finance & Administration at Powerlasers, and prior to his appointment to Vice President, Finance, he was Director, Corporate Taxation at ArcelorMittal Dofasco. As part of his responsibilities, Scott also serves on the Boards of various ArcelorMittal Dofasco subsidiaries as a Director and Treasurer. Scott graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1985 with a Batchelor of Business Administration (BBA). He became a Chartered Accountant in 1988.
Bob Savage, Vice President, Manufacturing, Bob Savage is the General Manager of Primary Manufacturing at ArcelorMittal Dofasco which includes Coke and Iron, Primary Services, Steelmaking, and Hot Rolling and has held this position since 2004. Bob graduated from Queen’s University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgical Engineering and received his MBA in 1981 from McMaster University.
Bob joined ArcelorMittal Dofasco in 1975 and has moved through a number of positions in Steelmaking. He is an appointed management representative on ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s Health and Safety Committee and has participated in a number of industry-related associations. He has served on the Board for both the Iron and Steel Society and the Association of Iron and Steel Technology, and is currently on the Board for the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.
Brad Davey, Vice President Sales & Marketing
Brad Davey joined Dofasco in 1986 as a member of the company’s Technology Department. In 1990, he was assigned to the Hot Mill as a Supervisor and held various roles in Maintenance and Operating Technology, until his appointment as a Business Unit Manager in 1996. In this role, Brad also led the Hot Mill modernization program and a technical exchange program with the former NKK Steel from 1999 to 2001.
In 2002, Brad joined Commercial as Manager of Marketing and became General Manager of Marketing in 2005. Brad was appointed Director of Sales in 2007, responsible for all flat rolled sales to Construction, Manufacturing, Distribution, Tubular, and Packaging Industries. In October 2008, Brad assumed additional responsibilities for Marketing and Commercial Business Development, and was promoted to Vice President, Sales & Marketing. Brad holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from McMaster University and is on the Board of Directors for ArcelorMittal Tubular Products.
