H1N1 Pandemic Planning and Information

The health and safety of our workforce is our highest priority. ArcelorMittal Dofasco is prepared to take all necessary precautions to minimize the risk to its workforce during a flu pandemic. ArcelorMittal Dofasco has been taking steps since the H1N1 pandemic first appeared in April to make sure that its operations and employees are prepared.

Our Pandemic Plan identifies essential operations and services and considers the potential impact to staffing. The key areas of focus include: virus surveillance, health procedures, Human Resources procedures and policies, operational plans and communications. The plan is consistent with Federal and Provincial Government plans as well as those of other companies. It also aligns with ArcelorMittal’s global Pandemic Plan.

Throughout the flu season the company will continue to provide employees and their families with as much information as possible about the Pandemic. This site will be the primary source of information. In addition, the best sources of information are local, provincial and federal public health agencies. The websites of these organizations contain a lot of useful information about the H1N1 virus and employees, retirees and their families are encouraged to take some time to research it for themselves.
